Sun and Heat Safety Tips
Dress for the weather
Dress in loose-fitting, light-colored attire crafted from breathable materials.
Stay hydrated
Drink plenty of cool liquids, especially water, before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration.
Avoid sun exposure
Avoid sun exposure especially between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Wear sunglasses
Make sure they provide protection against UVA and UVB rays.
Use sunscreen
Opt for sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 15. Ensure it’s labeled as “broad-spectrum” to effectively block most UVA and UVB rays. It’s crucial to note that while sunscreen guards against ultraviolet (UV) rays, it does not shield from heat.
